Olin Addition!

Hey Everyone!

By now, I'm sure you've all heard of our wonderful news!

Jack Foster decided to make his entrance into this world on Tues,April 28 at 6:40am~!

Here is our ''story" of Jack's arrival, because everyone keeps asking and it's a blessing to share how our wonderful Lord helps us along in all seasons of life!

Contractions started around 11pm monday night, we kept wondering if this was false labor b/c I had pretty strong Braxton Hicks two other times that turned out uneventful. We called my Mom and then the Dr. on call, they gave us their opinions and when the "braxton hicks" wouldn't go away, we had my Mom come over at 2am! We were so excited that it was happening! We got our showers, packed up our bags, and Dave got a bloody nose so he slowed us down a bit......LOL!

We arrived at The Toledo Hospital around 3:30am with pretty intense contractions about 2 1/2 minutes apart, and as soon as we got to Triage, the nurse did her evaluation at 3:47am and I was already dialated 6-7cm, and 100% effaced! Which was wonderful to hear, b/c we knew it couldn't be too much longer! Our nurse was so great---we were cracking jokes and she kept saying we weren't old enough to have kids! :) She was surprised when we told her we were in our early 30's!
The nurses didn't mess around, they were quick on their feet and got us set up in the birthing room and gave me Nubane to take the edge off, which in fact made me dizzy and horrible feeling :( The anesthesiologist got my epidural in at 9cm and it worked for an hour, then wore off. Which happened with Kate's delivery, too. We think, in our professional opinions of course, that it's because it happens so fast and slows the process down, and that mixed with Pitocin counteracts with my system. The actual delivery was intense as his head was turned the wrong way, so the Doctor had to move my cervix "out of the way" in order to help him out. After 15 minutes of intensity and pushing, the good Lord delivered Jack. At one point the room got silent, and then the hustle and bustle of the Dr and nurses getting equipment ready was a little overwhelming. I was thinking the worst and couldn't understand why it wasn't going easier! :) Thanks,EVE!
Dave was excellent and helpful, and we were both a little nervous that he came out blue, but God is so good. He took care of everything and we're home enjoying this miracle of life!

He's just so precious, and his big sisters love him to pieces! :) They're quite the big helpers, and are curious about EVERYthing ;)
